A Civil Society Information and Analytical Center is established in UNIAN

Beginning from 2007, a Civil Society Information and Analytical Center will commence its work on the basis of UNIAN.

The goal of the Center is to reinforce influence of the Ukrainian nongovernmental organizations in the mass media.

Leaders and active workers of nongovernmental organizations in the capital and regions of Ukraine, experts on development of civil society, sociologists, political scientists, and journalists, specializing in NGO topics, as well as UNIAN correspondents and editors will be involved into the project.

It is expected that creation of the Civil Society Information and Analytical Center will help organizations of the third sector penetrate into printed and other central and regional mass media, which in its turn, will increase opportunities to inform people in the street on everyday work of NGOs and donor structures, targeted at development of democratic social institutions.

The project will be implemented by UNIAN agency in collaboration with Open Society Foundation and will be supported by the International Renaissance Foundation.
